The Site

The site, an active commercial forest owned by Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS), lies

across the East and South Ayrshire Council boundaries, with the south west corner within South Ayrshire, the remainder being in East Ayrshire.

Current Status

Scoping Report submitted to Scottish Government Energy Consents Unit (ECU) in September 2025.    

Public Consultation

Force 9 is committed to open and transparent communication with the local community. We are planning two rounds of public exhibitions with the first taking place on Wednesday 1st October at McCandlish Hall Main St, Straiton, Maybole KA19 7NF, 1pm – 4pm and Patna Community Centre, Whitehill Avenue, Patna, KA6 7LY, 5pm - 8.30pm.

Community Benefit

Force 9’s development partner, Vestas, is committed to paying Community Benefit at the Scottish Government recommended rate: currently at a value equivalent to £5,000 per Mega Watt of installed capacity, for every year of operation (anticipated to be 30 years) to help fund community projects.

Shared Ownership

Vestas and Force 9 Energy are providing the opportunity for communities in the area to consider a share in the ownership of Patna wind farm.
